About Me
Eliza Waldman is a faculty member at the Birch Wathen Lenox School, where she teaches music production and a rock band program. She was also a Lessonface.com 2023 Songwriting Teacher of the Year. She holds a B.A. in music from Vassar College, where she was a recipient of the Elisabeth Locke Scholarship in Music and has studied guitar with the likes of Terry Champlin and Mike DeMicco. She has an extensive background in classical guitar, a deep love for and appreciation of jazz, and plays out regularly as a rock guitarist and songwriter in the NYC area, as well as on tour.
Eliza has been taught at programs including the Meridee Winters School of Music in the Philadelphia area and Jammin' With You in Brooklyn, NY. She has also coached for programs including the Hochstein School of Music and Dance in Rochester, NY, NYC Guitar School, NYC Rock Camp and Willie Mae Rock Camp in the New York City area.
Eliza teaches private lessons in a diverse range of styles on the guitar, electric bass, drums, ukulele, piano, and voice/vocal coaching and songwriting, as well as coaching her own after-school rock band program. She is also available for Skype lessons and audition prep, and regularly works with students on NYSSMA prep.
